Stanhope Weekender Music Festival - Bishop Auckland

This is an absolutely amazing weekend of music and dancing. The Bands are outstanding. The venue is in the most stunning town with amazing views. Plenty of choice for food and drink at Reasonable prices. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Wouldn’t miss it for the world. I would definitely recommend to all music lovers to book it in your diary for next year. Suitable for all age groups, family and dog, it’s friendly.

First time attending Stanhope Weekender and WOW - what an amazing weekend we all had!

- The festival tickets were affordable, with well priced food and drink.

- There is a real focus on the event being ‘family friendly’ and there was lots for kids to do. There is lots of space for camping, there were football goals put out and there was a child’s entertainer on the top of the bank too.

- The setting is beautiful with the campsites being next to some stepping stones in the local river. You’re also a ~10 min walk to the local village if you’re looking to get out and explore the area.

- The food and drink quality and choices were really strong. For food there were choices from deserts like ice cream though to Greek food and Asian fusion dishes, there is something that everyone will enjoy.

- For drinks there were 5 options on draught, with a good soft drink range. There was even a “Shot Shed” in front of the bar which was so cool!

- The bar staff were so friendly, (having a joke with us festival goers!) and the set up was also very efficient. I never waited more than 5 minutes from arriving into the tent through to leaving with a round in my hand.

- The acts were truly sensational! The festival chose tribute acts, which were really good quality and each had about an hour set time, which was a perfect time to be engaging and meant there was loads to see each day. It was nice to see some of the acts walking around the audience after and taking some photos with the crowd. Ibiza in Symphony closed the weekend and the set was the best thing I have seen live!

- Cleanliness. The toilets were clean, fully stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitiser. Showers were also very clean! I saw cleaners doing the rounds during both days of the festival, and they worked tirelessly to make sure they were up to standard. There were more toilets than needed, and there were even men’s urinals which meant there weren’t any queues for the ladies in our group.

- Staff. The happiest and friendliest staff I have encountered at a festival - all in really good spirits and were happy doing their roles.

- Caravans and camping. The one thing I would change would be separating caravans from campers, as caravans took up a lot more space than us campers.

- Dogs. Dogs are welcome which was nice to see.

Overall, Stanhope Weekender was really well organised and had good attention to detail all weekend without breaking the bank. We’re all really excited to return next year!

Really good weekend. The lineup for music was great and no complaints however there wasn’t enough attention on the toilets. These weren’t cleaned and refilled regularly enough. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper.

Fantastic well organised event, with friendly staff so will definitely be back next year! Food & drinks good prices too! Shame the weather was not great but it certainly didn’t stop the fun 🤩 looking forward to 2024
