This place is excellent! So much flavor and everything is so fresh, but they do serve smaller than normal portions, which is fine because of how delicious it all is. We had the Basil Fried Rice, which was amazing, the Pad See Ew which was perfect, the Tom Ka Chicken soup was okay, but could have had more coconut milk and been thicker. The Masaman Beef was amazing the first time we had it, super tender and perfect, but the second time we had it, the meat was pretty tough, so I guess it depends on what day you go, but the Masaman curry sauce was very good. They also have excellent Fried Spring Rolls and their Thai tea is good. The girl who is usually here is really nice, and they are quick. I really want to try the Mango Sticky Rice, it looks really yummy 🙂

Kao Hom Thai Cuisine is one of my favorite restaurants in Lake Balboa for authentic Thai flavors!

What We Ordered:

Soft Shell Crab Kapow: Perfectly crispy and flavorful, with fresh basil and bell peppers in a spicy sauce. A must-try for seafood lovers.

Chicken Wings: Crispy and juicy, served with a tangy dipping sauce. Perfect as a starter.

Chicken Drunken Noodles: Savory noodles with tender chicken and fresh veggies, all enhanced by aromatic basil. Delicious!

Mango Sticky Rice: Sweet and satisfying, with ripe mango and creamy coconut-infused sticky rice. A great way to end the meal.

Note: We ordered mild spicy, but it was quite hot, even with our decent spice tolerances. Be sure to adjust the spice level if you prefer less heat!

Overall, Kao Hom offers delicious dishes, generous portions, and friendly service. Definitely worth a visit!

Then look no further! This is by far the most authentic and amazing Thai food I've ever had.

To make food that taste like you are eating at food cooked with love and passion is a really rare thing.

To have a family owned business produce above and beyond flavorful dishes that haven't been changed to be more American is a gem.

The boat soup was a little sweet a little sour just the right amount of spice. It was so flavorful I couldn't stop drinking the both. Delicate and tender pieces of beef throughout it.

The Roti is something that's extremely hard to do. Was done soooo beyond well.

Eat here! Do it!

My husband and I had dinner tonight at Kao Hom Thai. It was recommended by my officemate, Mila. We are rating it as the best Thai restaurant in the valley. The taste and cooking is very authentic. We had the soft shell crab, yellow curry pork/chicken and pineapple fried rice. All amazing taste and flavor. The restaurant is VERY CLEAN. This is noticeable once you’re inside . This place is an absolute gem! After trying quite a few Thai food restaurants in the valley, this is by far the best! It’s run by a family and it’s an easy tell how much they love/care about what they do! They offer an extensive menu including not only a wide variety of Thai food, but also some other Asian fusion. This place is also clean and cozy, it feels so warm with their heartfelt service! Will keep coming back to try out all the different items on the menu! Parking is limited in this plaza, but it’s never an issue on weekdays. ? recommended if love Thai food!

My mom and I found this place, walking to find somewhere. We love it cause it reminds us of another restaurant, one I went to since birth. But shut down during Covid and we couldn’t find one restaurant as close to them as this one. Their fried rice is good and they have good pad thai. They have this soup that spicy and lil sour that has shrimp and fish. Don’t know the name but it’s good. I would bring a date here cause the food is good and the price is right.

I love this place. They are family run, their food is absolutely delicious, prices are reasonable, and they are friendly and welcoming. I've been going there with my daughter almost once a week for daddy-daughter date night for almost two years, and we have only had 5 star experiences. We love them and reciprocate the family vibes ?. IF YOU WANT THAI FOOD IN THE VALLEY, COME HERE!!
