Came to see The Roots/Digable Planets/Arrested Development and the vibe was starkly different from Roots Picnic @The Mann. First off BYOB to a music festival, completely unheard of. I seriously doubted her when she said we could bring food and drinks etc. She also pretended like taking the shuttles from the FREE parking lots would be horrible, it wasn't. Unfortunately we didn't get there early enough so I didn't even see the actual stage. We had lawn tickets and ended up near the back towards the entrance. There was a huge LED monitor so we could see the performance. Audio was really good. Even being in the back you could hear the music and discern the lyrics. It felt way more like a picnic than Roots Picnic. People brought chairs, tables, food, Wine and Candles?! I'm old school, Gin and juice would've sufficed, but we were in the burbs. We didn't use any of the facilities. Security, ushers were ok if not somewhat smug. They were there mostly to see everyone have a good time. The part of the park I saw was nice. Wide paved walkways, grass, shade and lots of picnic tables. Again I didn't see the pavilion. Leaving was fairly painless, shuttles were cued up, and we were able to get in line early. Not sure about the line behind us though. I would definitely come back to see other performances.

This was a fun experience and easygoing. The free train ride from Chicago OTC made it even better. The experience overall was well thought of for patrons. Picnic style seating on the lawn provides great listening atmosphere for the Pavilions musical selection.
There were food carts and vendors for people who did not carry food. The prices were not very expensive and can accommodate various food desires. Full clean bathrooms are available as well.
Take a blanket, chair, food and your favorite beverages! (Adult delights as well)

Great concert venue. There is a sheltered and unsheltered (lawn) seating. It feels very intimate and cozy. We sat under the sheltered portion which still is open on the sides. The sound was great and the
music (Samara Joy) was outstanding.

I am from Cincinnati, Ohio so I have only been to Ravinia once, but it was amazing. I loved the Mozart concert from the CSO. We bought tickets for the seats, but the picnic setting ups that some people had were amazing to see. I loved seeing the creativity of the food and decorations other patrons bought for the lawn area.

The show was amazing! The venue was clean and well organized. The only thing that could be improved is the parking situation. It started raining after the show and we were stuck outside for more than an hour to get the park-and-ride shuttle. It’s not easy to get to, nor is it easy to navigate the way back. Other than that, I love everything about Ravinia Park.
