I've been to Scarborough about ten times now, and it's ALWAYS a blast. The performers and actors really make the experience, and you can tell that they truly love what they do. There's live music absolutely EVERYWHERE, and it's really one big party. I love the atmosphere and how it's changed throughout the years. There are so many talented and amazing vendors, and I never have trouble finding ways to spend my money. I also enjoy the food, and I'm usually so famished from walking around, I never seem to remember to take pictures of it before I scarf it down. I am a little disappointed with the new mermaid experience because I remember there being tanks and tanks of them, and now there are only three. It does look cool, but it was underwhelming. I also wish there was camping. Many years ago, I knew it was because there was no land for sale. When the land did eventually go up for sale, it was disheartening that Scarborough did not purchase it for camping. I will keep coming back, though, and I can't wait to see what they do next!

Scarborough is a lot of fun. My favorite show is “Birds of Prey”. I never miss it, and would go to the event just for that. The show is amazing and their work with the birds is impressive. John does an unique show and incomparable to any other alike. The harpist Sarah Mullen, playing by the river is whimsical. For the most part the lines move fast enough. I love that for the last couple of years they started accepting credit cards. It makes everything a lot easier. We still take cash to tip but it’s a lot more convenient then in the past. Lots of food vendors and shops. I enjoy the artists interactions with the public, while they are in character walking around the event. It is also a great opportunity to dress up and try something different.

We had a great time at the Scarborough festival. I was amazed to see the openness of the area, most everyone was dressed up in gorgeous costumes. There are plenty of shows and vendors selling exquisite items. The fair timing is 10 am to 7pm but the time goes by fast. Variety of different food items.
I recommend
Taking lots of cash, make sure you have enough time to visit the entire park and go around for now for items.

Have been going to the fair every year for more than 10 years, and had our wedding here! Best day ever! Atmosphere is awesome! Everyone is free to express themselves however they see fit, and everyone is accepted with open arms. I hope it never changes. It really is like stepping back in time. It has become way more popular over recent years, and the large crowds are a bit of a drag for me personally as it takes some away from the interaction of the place. But we will continue to be guests for as long as time allows!

This place is always so fun. There was this actor who played sort of a jester character, I saw them frequently throughout the day. In the parade, during one of their shows, etc. But one particular moment he was on stilts and was acting as a baby. His body was in a box and little baby legs stuck out. It was so goofy to look at. But the interaction I had with him was so funny and so special. I'll never forget it. He said "daddy daddy! They have poppers over there!" I responded with "what kind?!" And he instantly broke character replying with "Jalapeño" in a sad/ laughing sort of way. Hilariously innocent fun.

Even though it was raining, it didn't drown out my fun being my first time there. Yes, it would have been more fun if it wasn't raining, but it was Mother's Day, so I had my son and grandchildren, so it was perfect.
The characters played their parts wonderfully, even in the rain, and all the colorful costumes just had me in amazement. Loved how it was set up with all the shops and trinkets, clothes, and other goodies. The shows were fun to watch, too.
This was a wonderful treat from my son. I know I would have never been able to afford it seeing what the prices were on everything from tickets, food and all the shops. So all I did was walk around and looked. I wasn't going to let him spend those prices after the tickets but he did buy the $4 20 0z drinks for 4 and expensive food of turkey leg, 2 slices of pizza and my sausage on a stick.
The main thing is I loved my time with my boys, and it was a rainy magical day.
Definitely will be going back next year and planning to dress up this time.

If you’re new to Texas, this is an out of the box experience to try. My bf and I went just to see what it was like and we had such a good time! We enjoyed the fire whip and jousting but every show was great. It feels like you are in another era and world since a lot of ppl that go dress up as well. What’s great is that lines aren’t long, service is fast, and the price was not too high compared to other places.
