This place is absolutely superb and very authentic. The tour is very informative and you really get a feeling for how tough it was for the coal miners back on the day. Strongly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant place for a stop over. You can use the whole car park but if you need electric their is about 5 or 6 spots. Their is water, you can empty your toilet and dispose of rubbish. Their is a bar restaurant with amazing food and lovely staff. We have stayed here 3 times when passing through. Very quiet spot. You can even do a trip down into the mine which is very good.

We really enjoyed following in the footsteps of miners for our 2hr tour, €16 tour. We had and audio guide but felt we missed out on extra info the guide gave in French. That said, we'd definitely recommend this as something a bit different. Bonus was that we could also stay over night in our camper for free too. Do come if you are in the area.

If you don't speak the language of the tour you end up just standing around a lot as your audio guide takes 3 min and the tour guide takes 10. But logically you aren't allowed to wander in the mine alone. It was still neat to go down into the mine.

but the miniature golf course sucks.

Visiting the coal mine was an exciting and very informative experience, which we definitely recommend! We were impressed by the atmosphere and history.

However, there's a significant downside: all tours are in Danish, and the English audio guide is extremely brief (about a minute of info). The Danish guide speaks at length and in detail, leaving us waiting and understanding nothing. Most of the tour was spent waiting, which really diminished the experience.

We hope the administration will expand the English options (full tours or a more detailed audio guide). Despite the language barriers, the mine is worth visiting, but be prepared that without Danish, much will remain untold.

We loved the tour of the mine. Our 4 year old son was tall enough to be allowed to enter and he also really enjoyed the tour. We also enjoyed the the playground, the museum and all the machines that are placed all over the site. The animal park is the least enjoyable thing they have to offer (also a bit out of theme) , but it's still nice for the little ones to see. The hike up the terill is also well worth it.

Fantastic little mine experience. In person guides only in Flemish or French, but audiobook guide you can use that was informative. 9 euro for entry into the mine.

Bring a coat it's 10 degrees down inside.

You get a tour of the washing/screening plant as well. We took our tour during Corona Virus restrictions and still enjoyed it.

Restaurant could be better - took ages to be served once we were seated.
