Although James Yee is helpful if you can ever get into his office, I found the rest of his practice generally unprofessional with poor communications. Usually calls go straight to voicemail and often I wouldn’t receive a call back. After moving to the area, I initially was recommending James Yee to my wife and she left a number of voicemails and sent some emails asking if he is taking patients and she never heard back. I was told I would receive a call in early September regarding an MRI that I asked for --- that didn't happen, so I left a voicemail a few weeks later, and didn't receive a call back, so I sent an email mentioning these persistent problems, and didn't receive a response either. This type of business may work for you as a customer if you are a highly organized person who likes to keep leaving messages and emails reminding your doctor to please pretty please respond to you. (Assuming the business is still operational…given the lack of responses it’s also conceivable that it is closed…). However, I found for my personality type where I assume people are professional and just patiently wait for days (or weeks) for a response that it just results in basically denial of care.

Dr Yee is a good doctor if you're not a pre-menopausal or post-menopausal woman. I always enjoyed how thorough he was in explaining things, and the course of action when needed. However I found that when I was in peri-menopause he was decidedly stearing me away from Hormone Replacement Therapy citing an old, and debunked study that HRT causes cancer, and instead, prescribing antidepressants which majority of doctors will do. So, I do not blame him for that. However this can be very harmful for women. Lack of hormones brings on slew of other conditions and diseases. Some cancers patients might not be candidates for HRT, but majority women benefit from it.

Dr. Yee has been my primary physician since he opened his practice in Issaquah, he is thoughtful, knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good family doctor.
