I went to see Michel Levesque because of my extraordinary pain from a ruptured disk. My first impression was that he was very personable and honest. He explained my situation clearly and gave both me and my husband time to ask many questions. He explained I would need surgery to remove the fragments logged in by back and said the surgery would relieve much of my pain and restore my ability to walk again. He scheduled my surgery for a week later, but a few days later & over a holiday weekend, I got into an emergency situation where I had to go to the ER because my pain was completely crippling. My husband called Dr. Levesque’s office and he quickly replied and instructed me to Cedars Sinai. When I got to Cedars Sinai, Dr. L had me admitted and the surgery scheduled for what felt like minutes later. I was beyond grateful considering the amount of pain I was in. After my surgery with Dr. Levesque, I had pain but nothing like I had before surgery and I could walk just hours after surgery. It’s been just a few weeks and I am progressing more and more each day. I am so very thankful to Dr. L and his office, he has just the SWEETEST office staff (Jennifer & Ryma), they have been informative, and extremely supportive!! Working in the medical field, I've seen it all. Doctors like this are few and far between! Dr. Levesque (and your team) thank you so very much!

I was sent to Dr. Levesque after 5 weeks of PT and a MRI of my cervical spine. He was great in explaining what was wrong with my neck and why my options were limited to surgery and not a block injection. I was personally overwhelmed with this news but he and his staff were great in helping me with all my questions and concerns. I did not know how bad I really felt until now that I am getting better, Dr. Levesque is a very skilled surgeon who I trust and would and have already recommended to my friends.

I know other people who have had this done with other doctors at other hospitals and their results were not as good. This was a great decision on my part to go with this doctor.

My husband, George has been under the excellent care of Dr. Michel Levesque for 3 spine surgeries. Each time we were well-prepared with an understandable diagnosis, valid expectations for the procedures and the hospital stay as well as the long term outcome. Dr. Levesque's outstanding surgical skills along with the great support of the nursing staff at Cedars made each surgery very successful. George now lives pain free with sturdy back and neck

After years of pain in my lower back and shooting pains down my legs I decided to search out a doctor that I could trust. I had MRIs done and had talk to several surgeons before I decided on Dr Levesque. I had my surgery May 2015. My MRI showed that I had virtually no disc between vertebrae's L4 and L5 and L5 and L6 plus I had a cyst inside the spinal column. After much research I decided to have Dr Levesque do my surgery. He inserted to spacers between the desk and fused L4, L5 and L6. He made me feel comfortable before the surgery but it's still a scary proposition. I'm happy to say that the recovery time was relatively quick. I had very little pain after the first couple weeks.
I'm happy to report that I'm completely pain-free in my back and legs. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Levesque to anybody. I couldn't have had a better outcome.

I went to Dr Levesque after dealing with years of back pain and unsuccessful spinal procedures. I have scoliosis and was dealing with extreme facet joint pain, muscular imbalances throughout my back. I was literally watching my body change from standing somewhat straight (it's hard to when you have scoliosis) to jutting severly out to the left and eventually developing a limp in my gait. Frustrating visit after frustrating visit with Kaiser Permanente who told me that they absolutely would not perform surgery on me and my only option was to be on pain meds for the rest of my life, I was 44 at the time. Completely devastated and refusing to take their advice, knowing full well that there was a competent surgeon out there who could help me, my husband and I went looking for that surgeon, whom we found with Dr Levesque. After the initial consultation that consisted of his examination, X-rays and CT Scan it was determined that I was a candidate for Scoliosis Spine Straightening Surgery w/ Instrumentation. I was thrilled to finally get the correct diagnosis. After Dr Levesque's diagnosis, I continued to consult several other surgeons in and out of California, I even called Dr Levesque asking for referrals, which he gladly provided, to me, that is an excellent sign of a Dr who is confidant in his abilities and not threatened by me wanting to explore all of my options. All but one surgeon agreed (to his credit the Dr that disagreed didn't have the experience of the other surgeons and admitted to that). The surgeons that were out of state told us there was no reason for us to leave California and that I was better off with Dr Levesque and being hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai. After a few more conversations with Dr Levesque I made the appointment for surgery on 02/14/2012. It was by far the best decision I have ever made! As Dr Levesque assured, all of my pre-surgery conditions disappeared, no more facet pain, limp and I am 1/2" taller and standing straight. It was most definitely a life altering surgery and although not easy, I would do it again. I cannot thank Dr Levesque enough for giving me my life back, I had lost it for 4 years and now I can do most everything I did before. His staff is phenomenal as well, Jennifer is a doll and her patient care is exceptional. I bugged her so much before and after surgery and she always answered all of my questions. I am extremely grateful to Dr Levesque and his amazing gift, I thank God every day for him and can only hope that he still has many years left to help other people such as myself.

I saw a Neurosurgeon at USC on March 18, 2014 at an earlier time. He told
me that there was nothing wrong and to continue to go to physical therapy. I proceeded to tell my mom, that he probably didn't even look at the current MRI's that I brought to the appointment. Considering he was 1 hour late to my appointment.

I came to Dr. Levesque in March 18, 2014. I knew that there was something wrong with my neck and back, being that I had been to other doctors telling me there was nothing wrong and to continue going to Physical Therapy. I took my MRI's with me at the time of my appointment. He looked them over and showed my mother and myself that I had ruptured discs in my neck and my lower back. I asked him how do I fix them? He said that I needed surgery so that I wouldn't lose my bowel and bladder control.
On May 21,2014 I had Anterior Cervical Discectomy Fusion at level C5/C6. This surgeon is AMAZING. This is an outpatient surgery and after I had the surgery I no longer had to worry about losing control of my bladder and bowels.

On June 22, 2014 I was diagnosed by Dr. Stratos Christianakis RA at USC with Ankylosing Spondylitis. This is why my discs are deteriorating in my spine.

Within 30 days of my neck surgery Dr. Levesque wanted to perform back surgery. Well it was 4 months later. I had Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion at the level L5/S1. This surgery is required for a hospital stay. I had this surgery on September 2, 2014. I am a on my way to recovery now. I am currently wearing a Lumbar Sacral brace for 3 months and going to start physical therapy on Tuesday October 21,2014.

This surgeon Dr. Levesque knows his stuff. He is very informative about the procedures, he gets back to you regarding any questions prior to the surgery that you may have, and his bed side manners are of the upmost BEST!!! He even calls you after the surgery personally to see how you are doing. Regarding his Staff, Ryma, Ashley and Patricia. These gals are wonderful. They are always so attentive and willing to help you any chance they get. These women are on top of things.
If there is anyone looking for the Best Neurosurgeon Dr. Michel F. Levesque in Los Angeles,he is the one.

Dr. Levesque was my surgeon for a discetomy and fusion in February 2013. He did an excellent job. I no longer have nerve pain, neck pain, upper back pain, and a big decrease in the amout of migraines. I highly reccomend him, he is excellent and maybe a quiet, but extremely qualified and honest. My scar is minimal and continues to heal nicely. I am glad I went to him and would again if needed.

He is truly a master of his craft! I was in pain and on pills for YEARS.
The doctors in Eugene Oregon said I just had arthritis and nothing could be done. A friend talked me into going down to see Dr. Levesque. Long story short, he fused 4 vertebrae together among other things during an 8 hour operation. That was 4 months ago and I am totally out of pain and don't even take aspirin now. This man knows what he's doing. And who could say anything bad about Cedar Saini hospital that has been there.
And his assistant Jennifer is great! Always returned my calls or emails within the hour. And she always knew who I was and all about my case without looking it up. I could go on and on. I highly recommend him!!!
