Dr. McNamara was amazing and is a great surgeon. If I could give him 10 stars, I would. He cares and listens and his staff is amazing. More important though is that he truly is a great surgeon. Neck dissection. If you need an outstanding surgeon, I can not stress enough to seek him for help and an opinion.

Dr McNamara is simply the best. He takes time to explain in detail. His bedside manners are impeccable. He is an incredibly skilled surgeon. My recovery from the thyroidectomy was quick, with minimum pain and a barely visible scar. Extraordinary post op services and follow up. Highly recommend. Dr McNamara is a class act.

I am very pleased that my dermatologist referred
me to Dr. W. McNamara for melanoma surgery. My experience is that he is an extremely skilled surgeon but also easily explains the procedure; and, a nice guy.
In June of 2023 he removed melanoma and lymph-nodes from my neck. Had a 5” incision from the bottom of my neck up to my jawbone/ under my ear, yet you cannot see the scar any longer!! . The area is still tender and tingles due to the stretching of nerves.
Earlier this month, 2 additional skin cancers were identified (chest & back) and
Dr. McNamara removed them 10 days ago. Despite any surgery is nerve racking, inconvenient, painful, etc.,
Dr. McNamara; his office staff is wonderful (Alisa was so efficient arranging between the my insurance company hospital); and, Baylor hospital in Plano made both surgeries as tolerable as I can imagine they could be. After 2 surgeries I guess I’ve moved from patient status to
a “customer” 😅 , and would return in their care again if necessary .

He’s is thorough and informative and very professional. I travel from San Antonio to see him and feel I am in good hands. It is quite scary at first because you don’t know who to trust but he has gained my confidence and I feel assured we are headed in the right direction. I have been dealing with cancer for a couple of years and have been involved with different drs.

I consider myself to be fortunate that I was treated by Dr. McNamara. I had a large tumor in my throat and asked Dr McNamara to remove it. I was miserable and not thinking right because of the side effects it was causing. Dr. McNamara came in and "talked me off the ledge."
I took his advice to heart and things have worked out as he said they would.
I trusted him and his abilities as a cancer surgeon then and I will trust him in the future.
If anyone is facing cancer and may need surgery... Dr. McNamara is the best there is.

I very highly recommend Dr. McNamara for anyone needing the services of a highly skilled head and neck surgeon who also specializes in oncology. I underwent what turned out to be a near six hour surgery with Dr. McNamara removing cancerous tissue from the side of my face. Outcome was what I had been hoping for. Plus he’s clearly very knowledgeable and speaks to the point. Even my plastic surgeon who took over after Dr. McNamara was finished and observed him at work in the operating room was impressed with his skills as a surgeon.
